Clint Bowyer passed Kyle Busch with 83 laps to go and never gave up the lead. He drove his car into victory lane at Dover international Speedway, for his second Nationwide win in just nine starts.

Bowyer’s crew chief, Doug Randolph, said the team made adjustments in Bowyer’s car during the first cycle of green-flag pit stops, giving Bowyer what he needed to run up front. This win gives Richard Childress Racing a well needed boost to revitalize his #29 Nationwide racing program.

A late race incident between Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski, however, shifted the focus from Bowyer.

With about 10 laps to go Keselowski got into the back of Hamlin, sending him to the garage. The altercation continued on pit row when Hamlin apparently wanted to have a few words with Keselowski. Tempers flared until Tony Eury Jr. stepped in to diffuse the tense situation.

Keselowski, on what happened from his perspective.

“I know for sure, my guys already told me, that his spotter told him I was down there. He just tried to take advantage of me. I’m not going to be pushed around.

Hamlin responded by saying, “ They (his spotters) said he was looking inside. Of course, I had position. I was trying to get to the 18. He just drove in there extremely hard, just to get his nose in there. He just took the first opportunity that he had to get to us and just showed no patience, but that’s just Brad.”

Denny also had some advice that he wanted to pass on to the young Keselowski.

“I wanted to talk to him. He obviously needs some kind of guidance on what he needs to do to make it. He’s got a ton of talent. I’m not going to take that away from him. He’s a good driver. If he can harness it, he’ll win a lot more races.”
